Physical Training
Physical conditioning is at the heart of the Wenatchee Rappel Program. Applicants are strongly suggested to maintain a rigorous, structured physical training routine before the season starts and be physically and mentally prepared to be pushed to your limits. Show up in the best shape you have ever been!

First Four Weeks
The first four weeks of the season will be dedicated to physical fitness, classroom and field training. This training will include basic and advanced helicopter operations, survival techniques, live fire operations and tactical fire scenarios Trainees must demonstrate mental competence and show the ability to endure rigorous physical strain before advancing to national rappel training.

Rappel Training
The fifth and final week of training will be at the National Rappel Academy in Salmon, ID. This training is performance based and trainees must demonstrate competence and proficiency in all aspects of the training to qualify as a US Forest Service Rappeller.
